Pulgas Water Temple, built 1938. Just beneath
this neoclassical temple is the spot where our water from
the high Sierra completes its 167-mile journey, bursting
forth into Crystal Springs Reservoir, just south of San
Francisco. Carved into the temple's stone is a quotation
from Isaiah 43:20: "I give waters in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert to give drink to my people."
