Do you give tours of your San Francisco brewery?
Yes, however reservations are required to tour the brewery. Tour and reservation information can be found in the Tours section of our site. And yes, the brewery tours include a tasting! Perhaps that’s why they’re often booked up to 6 months in advance.
Can I visit the brewery without a tour reservation?
To see the brewing facility and taste beer at the brewery you must have a tour reservation. Click here here to make a reservation.
If you don’t have a tour reservation you can visit Anchor Public Taps, located at 495 De Haro Street, across from our main brewery in San Francisco's Potrero Hill district. Public Taps is our pilot brewery and bar where guests can enjoy Anchor beers on tap including, specialty and limited release brews. We have local food trucks scheduled daily for lunch and dinner, as well as a calendar of special events.
You can also visit the Anchor Brewing Shop to purchase growlers and beer to-go, merchandise, and gifts. Store hours are Mon.-Sun. 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

What do the codes on the bottles mean?
The date code currently being used by Anchor Brewing Company (post-October 1991) replaces the clock-face that used to show the bottling month as one of 12 small notches around the main label. A three character code is now included on the new back label of the bottle. The code works like this:
The first character is always numeric and represents the last digit of the year. The second character is always alpha and represents the month by using the first letter of the month unless that letter has already been used:
The third character in the code is either alpha or numeric and tells the day of the month. The first 26 days are represented by the alphabet with the remaining days listed as:
27th through 29th = 7 through 9
30th = 3
31st = 1
An example of a date code would be: January 20, 2012 = 2JT
Will you donate/sponsor my event/club/group?
Anchor Brewing Company is a proud member and supporter of our community, and strives to give back whenever we can.
Due to California State Alcohol Beverage Control laws however, we are only able to legally donate product to 501©3 or 501©6 non-profit organizations who have obtained a one-day alcohol license for their event. If your organization and event meets those criteria, and your charitable event is more than 60 days out (since it does take time to activate these programs), you may submit a written proposal to Info@AnchorBrewing.com for consideration. This proposal should provide information about your non-profit organization, tax identification number, as well as details about the event. We do receive a large number of these inquiries, so we appreciate your understanding if we are not able to accommodate your request.
Do you have any employment opportunities?
Anchor Brewing Company is a growing American craft brewery and we do occasionally recruit for positions throughout our organization. Cover letters with resumes may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration, but unfortunately we can only respond to those that match current employment opportunities.
Do you have any internship opportunities available?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer internships.
Can I distribute your products?
Our American craft beers are currently available in all fifty of the United States, the District of Columbia, and a number of foreign countries.
We require all of our distributors, national and international, to refrigerate our products during transport from the brewery to the warehouse. It is a very important consideration; many distributors find this to be either impossible or too expensive for them. As a result, this requirement has limited our choice of distributors.
