Brekle’s Brown™ is named for German immigrant Gottlieb Brekle, who purchased an old beer-and-billards saloon in 1871 and transformed it into a little brewery that 25 years later would be renamed Anchor. Inspired by the all-malt brown ales in Anchor’s brewing archives, Mark Carpenter’s unique recipe uses Citra hops to balance Brekle’s™ Brown’s rich malty flavors with hints of citrus, giving the beer a complexity without heaviness. Brekle’s™ Brown is a celebration of Anchor’s 140-year brewing legacy.
We encourage responsible enjoyment of our beers.
